What We Fund

Geographic Coverage

We only accept grant requests from nonprofit organizations who serve residents of WV or Washington County, OH.

Grant Deadlines

We fund grants on a rolling cycle and do not have specific application cycles or deadlines. Organizations may only receive funding one time during a calendar year.

Funding Priorities

Our grants support the basic human needs of our region across four areas: Social Welfare, Health and Medical, Civic and Community Welfare, and Arts and Culture.

Our main focus is basic human needs. Grants will be made primarily in the area of social welfare and shall be for tax-exempt organizations as designated under IRS Code, primarily 501(c)(3).  

We do not make grants to:

  • Entities that are not recognized as tax-exempt under IRS codes

  • Public or private school clubs, sports, extra-curricular organizations or facilities used primarily for athletics or athletic events

  • Government agencies/departments or their projects or grants for political purposes

  • Churches or organizations requesting grants for religious purposes (except faith-based charities dedicated to the pursuit of activities covered by the Foundation's Bylaws)

  • National charitable organizations (except chapters located in the primary geographical area, which utilize grant monies for specific use in the geographical area)

  • Individuals or for any travel
