Guidelines for Application


Organizations interested in applying for grants from the Bernard McDonough Foundation should do so by submitting a cover letter and other materials which include:

  1. A description of the applicant organization and its activities.

  2. A brief statement of the need or problem to be addressed by the organization/project.

  3. A description of the project or program for which a grant is requested.

  4. The methodology to be used to accomplish the task.

  5. Proposed method for evaluating the success of the project or program.

  6. Amount of the grant request.

  7. How the project or program will be financed after the grant period.

  8. A list of committed and requested financial support from other sources for this project.

  9. Names and titles of officers and board members.

  10. A copy of the organization's budget, as well as a copy of the project budget, if applicable.

  11. Proof of tax exempt status under the appropriate provisions of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.

  12. A copy of the organization's most recent audited financial statement or, if an audit was not conducted, the most recent financial statement and a copy of the most recent 990.
