Our foundation is making a conscience effort to continue funding great non-profit organizations located in rural areas of WV. With the reduction in coal along with the opioid crisis we are seeing more need to help the most vulnerable people in our state.
Why we give
The Bernard McDonough Foundation was established in 1962 to bring a systematic approach to our founder, Mr. McDonough’s philanthropy. The Foundation has assets of approximately $38 million and distributes approximately $1.5 million per year in grants.
His life and vision inspires our continued work to fund nonprofit work in West Virginia and Washington County, Ohio.
